Block Teaching
At the University of Portsmouth London, we use block teaching, a focused and flexible approach designed to help you succeed. With block teaching, you’ll study one module at a time, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in each subject without juggling multiple topics.
Fixed Timetables
Our fixed timetables are provided in advance, making it easy to plan your studies around part-time work, family commitments, or other responsibilities. You’ll be assessed after each module, so you’ll benefit from continuous feedback without the stress of end-of-year exams.

Focused Learning
At the University of Portsmouth London campus, we have reinvented our approach to teaching and learning placing you, the student, at the heart of everything. We do make it easier to focus and balance your learning with your other life commitments. Typically, you are expected to cope with complex workloads and assignment pressures associated with studying multiple modules at the same time. However, at the University of Portsmouth London campus, we reduce your study stresses by allowing you to learn one module at a time - we call this 'focused learning'.
It means you can concentrate all your efforts on one subject and after several weeks of focused learning activities, you'll be fully prepared to complete your assessment while the learning is fresh in your mind and before moving on to the next module. Your lessons will be concentrated into two half days on campus with an additional online session on one other day. Your timetable will remain the same for the whole time you are studying with us. This means you can easily fit your studies around the rest of your life whether that's part-time work, parent or carer responsibilities and with the option to start at three intake points every year. You can begin your University experience at a time that suits you.
Our classes are small so you'll get to know your classmates and tutor well. Learning activities will be active with practical experience connected to the Industry through assignments with external clients. Students acting as consultants in businesses or site visits where you can experience specialists in real working environments.
