Meet our International Students

Meet our international students

Hear from some of our international students at UoPL and find out why studying with us was the right choice.

[Meet our international students]

Student 1: So the best thing about the University of Portsmouth — it was gold star rated when I was applying. I think it still is, and that is one of the most, that is one of the biggest driving forces of the University. So when I saw all of these criterias being fulfilled by my course, I was like yeah that's it — that's that's where I want to go.

From the day one I was at the University, it was a campus store that I attended, and everyone was just so helpful. Even silly questions like 'can I jwalk', 'can I do this', 'can I do that?'

That was probably the most heartwarming thing — when you move to a different country and you're welcomed with such warmth.

Student 2: The reason actually I chose this uni is because of what my course has, which is very much different from other unis. So first of all it's very hands-on, which I really appreciate.

Student 3: Yeah I guess, you know for an international student especially, for those people who come to the UK, you know especially to with the purpose of study — everybody has a dream to just go and work in London. I think it is a dream of every international student so why not for me as well.

Student 2: There's many great organisations here to begin with. Great companies that I see myself working with. And I've had the opportunity to be exposed to some of these companies through when we have lectures, when our lecturers bring in different speakers from different companies so we get to network with them even after class.

Student 4: Everybody was really nice, everybody was really friendly. It was really simple — straightforward. I went in there got my passport checked, Visa... I'd really like to see Westminster Abby, Buckingham Palace, all these old buildings, the houses of Parliament. I really like any sort of Old Stone buildings.

Student 5: I have a lot of places that I can I want to explore — Buckingham Palace crown jewels, definitely. I do want to go to 221B Baker Street — Sherlock Holmes house.
