UoPL Construction Project Management master’s student Arezoo Ghahramani has secured a lecturer role at Global Banking School before finishing her degree.

Arezoo Ghahramani has been appointed as lecturer in the Construction Management Undergraduate Programme at GBS. She credits her time at UoP London with giving her the skills and confidence to take this next step in her career.

Arezoo was first drawn to UoP London by the reputation and academic excellence of UoP, alongside the advantage of being in London, a hub of economic and construction activity. With a strong background in architectural engineering and business information management, she has worked on international projects and graduated from one of the top universities in Iran before coming to London.

Reflecting on her time at UoP London, Arezoo credited the MSc Construction Project Management course structure in developing her skills and supporting her progression within the industry. “This programme offers a well-balanced combination of construction, project, and management, delivered through both theory and practice.” Arezoo found this course particularly helpful in “bridging (her) academic background with hands-on industry experience”.

“UoP London has designed the course in a way that prepares students for the realities of the job market, where technical knowledge alone is not enough- you also need the ability to lead people, solve problems creatively, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders”.

Arezoo used the support of UoP’s careers and employability team to set herself up for success in her job application, sourced through LinkedIn. “By the time of my interview, I already felt confident that I was well-suited for the role”. She explained how her course in construction project management reinforced this confidence. “Beyond the subject content, I developed essential skills in presentation delivery, time management, and engaging students during teaching, which I learned directly from my professors”.

"My experience at UoP London has made a real difference, both in terms of career progression and personal development.... I was able to strengthen my communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills in a very practical way. These soft skills, combined with the technical knowledge I gained, have given me a strong competitive edge in the job market”.

Looking ahead, Arezoo is excited to further her career in teaching in the construction industry. She is excited about the blend of academia, research, and building connections within the industry. She expressed her gratitude for her time at UoP London. “The support from lecturers has been outstanding throughout my studies... I am truly grateful for their support, which made my learning experience both rewarding and inspiring”.
