The session welcomed Peter Turner, a multi-chartered executive with 40+ years in construction site and design management. Drawing on major UK projects, he shared technical and leadership lessons that sparked lively student discussions on problem-solving, decision-making, and managing complex infrastructure. His guest lecture focused on four large-scale construction projects in the UK, offering students an in-depth look at both the technical and managerial challenges involved in delivering complex infrastructure.

Joining him was Keji Aisha Kamoju, Qualifications Liaison Manager at the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Keji spoke about the importance of professional networks and memberships, highlighting how students and postgraduate learners can benefit from engaging with professional bodies such as the CIOB. She also emphasised the value of continuing professional development (CPD) and how certifications can strengthen career prospects in a competitive industry.

This event shows UoP London’s commitment to real-world learning. Connecting students with industry experts goes beyond classroom-based theory- giving students practical insights that bridge the gap between classroom and career. The MSc Construction Project Management programme continues to deliver opportunities that bring learning to life.
