As the Course Leader for the MSc in Information Systems, Saminda bears the primary responsibility for the comprehensive development and academic excellence of this esteemed program. His pivotal role involves overseeing the curriculum to ensure it adheres to the highest educational standards while remaining closely aligned with the ever-evolving demands of the industry. 

Saminda collaborates closely with a team of senior lecturers, leveraging their collective expertise to design and develop cutting-edge modules. Employing innovative pedagogical approaches, he ensures that the coursework remains dynamic, relevant, and effectively prepares students for successful careers in the field of Information Systems.

Career Biography

Saminda brings over 15 years of extensive experience in teaching and management, specializing in Cyber Security and Computer Science. He has taught a wide range of students in Level 3, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses across the UK higher education sector. Before joining Portsmouth London, Saminda held lecturer and module leader positions at Coventry University London, Buckinghamshire University, Ulster University, Solent University, and Pearson. As a program developer for NCCUK, he actively contributes to the development of new courses and modules, ensuring the integration of real-world industrial practices.  

Saminda's background seamlessly intertwines academic excellence with extensive industry experience. His academic credentials are complemented by his tenure as an IT consultant, where he honed his skills in web design, networking, configuring digital learning environments, and implementing robust security measures. This synergistic blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application sets him apart, enabling him to bridge the gap between academia and industry seamlessly.
