The University of Portsmouth London is strengthening its teaching team even more, welcoming three new academics to the Walthamstow campus.
Dr Fadime Sahin - Shaping future finance professionals
Fadime joins UoP London as Course Lead for the new BSc Accounting and Finance. With over a decade of experience in UK higher education and a strong professional background in the finance sector, Fadime brings both academic rigour and real-world insight into her teaching.
Before entering academia, Fadime spent seven years working in the finance industry across investment and retail banking, insurance and sales - experience that continues to shape her applied, employability-focused approach to learning.
Before joining the University of Portsmouth, Fadime served as Course Director at Anglia Ruskin University, London. In this role, she played a key part in course design, programme validation, curriculum development and professional accreditation activity, alongside leading a range of student-centred initiatives.
She has taught across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Her academic career also includes appointments at several leading UK institutions, notably Queen Mary University of London, King’s College London and City, University of London.

Dr Shaina Jain - Preparing students for data-driven business careers
As Senior Lecturer and Course Leader, Shaina brings with her international teaching and research experience. She specialises in business analytics, data-driven decision-making and sustainability, bringing real-world and analytical insight to help students develop the skills needed for today’s digital and data-led business environment
A versatile, student-centred lecturer with a background in business management, analytics and sustainability, she specialises in critical thinking, strategic development and data-driven decision-making, integrating real-world and eco-conscious principles into her teaching.
Shaina has taught and conducted research at universities across the UK, the USA, China, India and the Philippines, including the University of Lincoln, University of Exeter and Fordham University (London campus), Guizhou University, China, and International Rice Research Institute Headquarters, Philippines.
She teaches across modules related to Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Project Management, Quantitative Analysis and General Business, and holds a PhD in Business Administration, alongside postgraduate qualifications in Business Analytics and Business Administration.

Dr Bilawal Khan - Driving leadership in our new Master of Business Administration course
Bilawal joins UoP London as Senior Lecturer and MBA Lead, bringing extensive experience teaching across the UK and Southeast Asia. His academic work focuses on digital transformation, innovation adoption, marketing strategy and SME development.
Bilawal holds a PhD in Business and has previously held academic roles at institutions including Cardiff Metropolitan University, Birmingham Newman University, the University of Brighton and the University of Wolverhampton. He is known for his inclusive, industry-connected teaching approach and his commitment to developing future business leaders through practice-oriented learning.
