Last week, University of Portsmouth London MA Digital Marketing students welcomed founder of Posable, Bailey Mansfield, to the London campus. Bailey visited the campus based in Walthamstow on Monday 19th August, as part of his collaboration with University of Portsmouth London’s master's students on their module The Marketing Agency.
Students were tasked with working on a life brief for Bailey’s company, which provide a sustainable alternative to disposable cameras for weddings. Working in teams, students used their research skills and marketing experience to create a brief for Posable. This culminated in their presentations to Bailey, showcasing their innovative and creative marketing ideas to promote his brand and service.
MA Digital Marketing student, Banke, reflected on her teams’ collaboration with Bailey on this project:
“It gave us hands-on experience that reflected what real-world marketing looks like... Presenting to a founder felt like a big step, but it showed me that with the right preparation and research, it’s possible to take on challenges that first seem out of reach”.
Following the presentations, Bailey was asked about his experience at University of Portsmouth London. “I was really impressed by their content ideas”, he says, “there was a lot of unique twists on trends from TikTok and Instagram”.
“Being a Portsmouth graduate... When we started the project, it was a key ambition of mine to come back to my university and help university students apply their learnings to a real business”.
“It’s brought a fresh look onto Posable. New ideas I hadn’t thought of before...getting an outsider’s perspective has been so beneficial for thinking of new ideas that I will go away and apply for Posable now.”
We thank Bailey for his time at University of Portsmouth London campus and congratulate our master’s students on their innovative and creative briefs.
