Summary

Toni currently serves as the Course Leader for the BA in Business and Management, with teaching responsibility for a range of modules, curriculum development, and overall management of the course.

Toni’s role also involves working collaboratively with academic colleagues, senior management, industry and local communities in the design and development of innovative teaching approaches (leveraging active learning), and courses which meet the highest academic standards, and industry needs. 

Biography

With a distinguished career spanning over 30 years in academia and in industry, in three continents, Toni’s journey as an academic has been marked by a commitment to teaching, business research, green business/sustainability, and curriculum design.

His focus on teaching and sustainable business operations has enabled him to impart critical analytical skills and foster a dynamic learning environment that prioritizes students learning and industry needs. Prior to joining the University of Portsmouth, Toni worked at Regents University London, University of Bedfordshire, University of Wales-Trinity saint David/CTL, and at the Edinburgh Napier University, teaching a wide range of courses in Business and Management, including PhD, and MBA thesis/dissertation supervision. Toni has also worked as a Chartered Town Planner, and as a Journalist/Newspaper Editor.

He holds a PhD in Sustainability, from the University of Plymouth, an MPhil in Town Planning from University College London (UCL), an MA in Communications Policy Studies, from City, University of London, and a BA honours in Contemporary Cultural Studies, from Middlesex University. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a member of the Royal Town Planning institute (MRTPI), and a member of the Institute of Economic Development (MIED)
