Step-by-step guide on how to apply through Clearing
You’re eligible for Clearing if:
You didn’t meet the conditions of your firm or insurance offers
Your results were better than expected and you want to switch course or university
You don’t hold any offers
You’ve changed your mind after accepting an offer
You’re applying for the first time after 30 June
You’ve declined your place using the ‘Decline My Place’ option in UCAS Hub
Clearing is now open, and you can apply as soon as you have your results and know which course you're interested in.
Our most popular courses fill up fast and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis—so if you’re ready to apply, call us right away.
You can also explore options through UCAS Clearing Plus by heading to the My Matches section in UCAS Hub and clicking I’m interested on courses that catch your eye.
Course availability can change rapidly during Clearing, so be sure to check regularly for the latest updates.
You can contact as many universities as you like during Clearing, but you can only apply to one course at a time via UCAS. We recommend focusing on one application at a time to keep things manageable.
If we make you an offer, we’ll email you the details and give you 24 hours to accept. Before you respond, please read our Clearing terms and conditions.
We also have helpful guidance on how to accept a Clearing offer.
If you applied through UCAS, you can accept your Clearing offer in your UCAS Hub:
Go to the Your Choices section.
Click ‘Add Clearing choice’.
Enter the course details provided in your offer email.
Important:
Only add a Clearing choice if you've received an official offer.
You can only accept one offer in UCAS Hub, so take time to make your decision.
If you run into any issues or miss the deadline, contact us right away.
If you didn’t apply through UCAS:
Use the link in your offer email to complete our online Record of Prior Acceptance (RPA) form.
Note:
If you already created a UCAS account this year—even if you didn’t apply in the main cycle—you’ll need to accept your offer through UCAS Hub instead of using the RPA form.
