1. Eligible students

1.1. The E17 degree is a £1,000 reduction of fees in the first year of the student’s studies open to:

1.2 Offer holders for University of Portsmouth London UG, PG, and Foundation courses who live, work or study in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

1.3 The E17 degree is applicable to students entering their degree via the Foundation course, however the £1000 discount will only be applied during the students first year of their degree level course.

1.4 The E17 degree only applies to students who have made a 'direct' application to the University of Portsmouth London (through UCAS or via the University website), and does not apply to students referred to the University of Portsmouth London by a 'third party' or partnership.
 

2. Academic criteria

2.1 Successful applicants will meet or exceed all predicted grades stated in their application.
 

3. Application process

3.1 There is no need to apply for the E17 Degree if students live or have studied in Waltham Forest; applicants will automatically be considered and notified if they meet the student eligibility criteria.

3.2 For applicants who work in the borough of Waltham Forest, they will need to notify the University of Portsmouth London of their eligibility for the E17 Degree and provide evidence to london@port.ac.uk. This should include copies of recent payslips or a copy of their contract of employment.
 

4. Timescales

4.1 The E17 Degree will be allocated and students notified once examination results have been confirmed and verified.
 

5. Payment

5.1 Students must have completed their registration onto year 1 of their course to receive the E17 Degree fee reduction.
 

6. Operational terms and conditions

6.1 Students who suspend or withdraw from their studies will become ineligible for the E17 Degree. No extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration.

6.2 Applicants who receive the University of Portsmouth E17 Degree will still be entitled to apply for student loans, bursaries and scholarships, subject to their eligibility.

6.3 The University’s decision on the allocation of the E17 Degree in accordance with these terms and conditions is final. There is no appeals process.
