Dr. Murat Ayhan

Senior Lecturer in Construction Project Management 

 

Murat is responsible for enhancing academic offerings in the Construction Project Management postgraduate program. This role involves planning and designing interactive, inclusive workshop sessions using the Active-Blended teaching approach to engage diverse learners.

It includes creating authentic assessments with AI tools to develop industry-relevant skills, overseeing marking and verification processes, and collaborating with lecturers and industry professionals to align with educational and industry standards. Additionally, the role requires ongoing professional development and conducting research in CPM and engineering education to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.

Career Biography: 

Murat is a seasoned researcher in Construction Project Management with 14 years of academic experience. Previously, he was Vice Chairperson at Gazi University’s Civil Engineering Department, mentoring students and contributing to scholarly discourse. Specializing in dispute management, Murat’s expertise includes construction contracts, variation, and disruption claims.

He holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, His research focuses on predicting construction disputes and selecting resolution methods, resulting in numerous peer-reviewed publications and citations. His practical experience as a site engineer enriches his academic work. Proficient in statistical analysis and machine learning, his work and teaching reflect a commitment to innovation in construction management.
