What is Clearing?
Clearing is your chance to find a university place if your plans have changed. Maybe you didn’t get the results you expected, you’ve had a change of heart about your course or university, or you’ve only recently decided to go to university. Whatever your situation, Clearing can help you take the next step.
Through Clearing, you can apply for undergraduate courses that still have places available—it's a flexible way to secure your spot at university.
You're eligible to apply through Clearing if:

You’re not holding any offers from universities

You applied after 30 June
-
You didn’t meet the conditions of your offers

You’ve declined all your offers or changed your mind
At University of Portsmouth London, we welcome ambitious students through Clearing and provide personalised guidance to help you make a confident choice.
When is Clearing?
Clearing opens on 5 July 2025 and runs until 21 October 2025, but popular courses can fill up quickly—so we recommend getting in touch as soon as you’re ready.

Clearing Timeline – What to Do and When
April – Understand Clearing
First things first—understand what Clearing is and how it works. It’s a great option for students who haven’t secured a place yet, are applying later in the cycle, or are thinking about changing their course or university. The earlier you explore the process, the more prepared you’ll be.
May – Get a Feel for UOP London
University is about more than just academics—it’s about the whole experience. Discover what it’s really like to live and study in London with us. Hear from current students, get a feel for campus life, and start imagining your future here. (You can attend our open day on 17 May book here)
Late May – Apply for Student Finance
If you're planning to start university this autumn, get your Student Finance application in as early as possible to make sure your funding is ready when term begins. You can find guidance tailored to UOP London on our website.
Early June – Explore Our Courses
Explore our London campus courses. To further understand how our courses are taught and how you will be assessed check out our course pages here.
July 2025 Onwards – Call Us During Clearing
Once you have your final, confirmed exam results, you can apply through Clearing. If you're expecting results in August, doing your prep in advance will make a big difference.
